The Women and the Law Section of the State Bar of Texas announced Former Judge Renée Yanta as the 2022 winner of the Louise B. Raggio Award. The Bexar County Women's Bar nominated Judge Yanta and she was recognized at the State Bar's annual meeting in Houston, Texas on June 9, 2022.

Judge Nelson Wolff has published his book, The Mayor and The Judge: The Inside Story of the War Against COVID, a recount of his efforts to keep residents safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. The book features a foreword by Mayor Ron Nirenberg who worked with Judge Wolff to gather information during the unpreceded times. Judge Wolff's book reached the #3 Best Seller in the Public Administration category on Amazon and is available in hardcover and paperback.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Henry Bemporad and his legal assistant Wendy Branham were presented with the Outstanding Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Service Award for decades of outstanding service and support to the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel of appointed lawyers in federal courts. 

Justice Patricia Alvarez has won Jurist of the Year for Texas-American Board of Trial Advocates (TEX-ABOTA) and will be recognized this month at their annual meeting.

Recipients of this award must meet TEX-ABOTA's criteria including being committed to preserving and improving the jury trial system, having evenhanded administration of the rule of law and maintaining open and accessible relationships with the bar. 

The San Antonio Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (SA-ABOTA) has been awarded the Large Chapter of the Year Award. 

SA-ABOTA President Javier Espinoza shares "Winning this award from such a distinguished organization like ABOTA raises San Antonio to another level of respect and leadership. Now more attorneys know what we have known for a long time, that our local legal community is the hardest working and has the most community-minded attorneys in the nation .”
