Investigates complaints of practicing law without a license. *Committee established by Texas Legislature & Supreme Court of Texas

The Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL) District Ten Subcommittee (Bexar County) is seeking new members to assist in our investigations and prosecutions.  

Our Subcommittee is charged with identifying and stopping UPL through a variety of methods, ranging from voluntary compliance to lawsuits seeking permanent injunctions in District Court. 

Subcommittee membership is not limited to attorneys.  The time commitment is typically 1-4 hours monthly, including the monthly meeting where investigations are discussed and hearings are conducted.  

All subcommittee members, if selected, are appointed by the Supreme Court of Texas.

Membership on the SABA Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee is restricted to current SABA members and must be approved by State UDP committee, however anyone may submit a question or submit interest in joining for the current Chair to review and nominate.
