SABA’s 2019-2020 Board of Directors elections are officially underway! Online voting begins June 3 and ends June 28; paper ballots will then be sent to members who did not partake in online voting. Elected Officers will be formally installed alongside incoming President Tom Crosley at SABA’s Annual Meeting on Thursday, August 22.

SABA members Julia Mann, Larissa Sanchez Fields, Kristal Cordova Thomson, Lauren Valkenaar, were featured in San Antonio Woman Magazine’s article, Women in Law. SABA would like to congratulate Nick Guinn, who sits on the SABA Board of Directors, for his recognition as SAYLA’s 2019 Outstanding Young Lawyer Award winner. 

Langley & Banack, Inc. has announced that Mark E. Macias has joined the firm and is part of their insurance litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practice groups. Macias is an experienced litigator who joins the firm after serving as the lead in-house insurance defense lawyer for a national insurance company for more than 20 years. He will continue practicing litigation and serve as a mediator.

Kristal Thomson from Langley & Banack has received the “Standing Ovation” Award by the State Bar of Texas for her contributions to the TexasBarCLE, one of the premier CLE providers in the nation. Thomson, a Board Certified family law attorney, has made numerous contributions to the field. 

May was a month to celebrate the future of the Bar Auxiliary, as the theme of its annual officer installation luncheon, Celebrate Our Future, was aptly titled. It was also, however, a month to recognize and honor former Bar Auxiliary presidents for their service.
