Welcome to the Community Justice Program.
The Community Justice Program (CJP), the pro bono project of the San Antonio Bar Association, partners with community organizations to provide free legal services to underserved populations who may not otherwise have access to the legal system in the San Antonio metro area.
Fewer than 20 percent of low-income residents of South Texas can obtain legal assistance when faced with a civil legal problem. That means four out of five people arrive at the courthouse door to find they cannot afford the price of admission. Through partnerships and legal advice clinics for veterans and the underserved, CJP helps these residents overcome such obstacles.
Community Justice Program
CJP's committed volunteer corps, composed of judges, attorneys, paralegals, notaries, and law students, is the driving force behind the Community Justice Program’s efforts to improve access and close the justice gap. To date, the Community Justice Program has matched over 10,000 pro bono cases to volunteer attorneys.
