Langley & Banack, Inc. announced today that transactional attorney Christina Blum has joined the firm as an Associate. Ms. Blum’s practice includes all aspects of general business transactions, including real estate sales, financing, and leases; secured transactions and loans; all stages of business organization/formation, and other related business matters. She represents owners, developers, lenders, and landlords in commercial and residential real estate transactions.

Tania Albuja recently joined the San Antonio office of national law firm, Chamberlain Hrdlicka, as an associate in the Tax Controversy and Litigation practice. Prior to joining the firm, Albuja served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Juan F. Vasquez of the United States Tax Court in Washington, D.C. At Chamberlain Hrdlicka, she will assist with a wide range of federal tax controversy and litigation matters at all stages before the Internal Revenue Service and federal courts.

“We’ve taken the best of mentor programs and rolled them into a volunteer friendly format,” reports Sara Dysart, SABA Law School Liaison Committee Chair. The San Antonio Bar Association Law School Liaison Committee and St. Mary’s School of Law Board of Visitors are launching a pilot program of scheduled monthly meetings called Mentor Circles for 2L and 3L law students. Each Mentor Circle will consist of two volunteer lawyers and eight students. Mary Stich, Mentor Circles Chair, adds “We have removed the burden of content creation and have drafted Discussion Topics and framework for the volunteers to use.  It is a very user-friendly program.”
