At the San Antonio World Affairs Council event on September 10, 2020, Belgian Ambassador Dirk Wouters discussed US/Belgium relationship.
Ambassador Wouters also bestowed on Robert Braubach, San Antonio attorney, “The Officer in the Order of Leopold II” for over twenty five years of service to represent Belgium in San Antonio as an Honorary Consul and foreign trade representative.

“We’ve taken the best of mentor programs and rolled them into a volunteer friendly format,” reports Sara Dysart, SABA Law School Liaison Committee Chair. The San Antonio Bar Association Law School Liaison Committee and St. Mary’s School of Law Board of Visitors are launching a pilot program of scheduled monthly meetings called Mentor Circles for 2L and 3L law students. Each Mentor Circle will consist of two volunteer lawyers and eight students. Mary Stich, Mentor Circles Chair, adds “We have removed the burden of content creation and have drafted Discussion Topics and framework for the volunteers to use.  It is a very user-friendly program.”

Judge Ernie Glenn and the team of the Bexar County Felony Drug Court were awarded the 2020 Judge Ruben G. Reyes Outstanding Specialty Court Team Award for, “Effective Teamwork & Utilizing Best Practice Standards to Save Souls” from the Texas Association of Specialty Courts (TASC).  Judge Reyes epitomizes the idea that good intentions are not enough, that best practice standards save lives and souls.
