Candidate for President-Elect

Lawrence Morales II

The Morales Firm, P.C.

Labor and Employment Law & Business Litigation

Baylor Law School, 2005

Why vote for me?

I hope that you vote for me because I understand that, like our city is the biggest small town in America, our bar has a unique familial quality. While zealously representing our clients, our members manage to treat their colleagues with respect and professionalism. Our members understand that how we conduct ourselves is likely the only interaction with the justice system our clients will experience firsthand, and consequently integrity and honor are fundamental to the rule of law. If elected, I will work to preserve this unique quality in our bar so that one day I can pass it on intact to my kids. I also aspire to develop a formal SABA mentorship program so that our esteemed members can inspire and guide high school and college students who are interested in the law and government.

Why vote for me?

With San Antonio being one of the fastest growing cities in the country, along with that growth will come many new lawyers who will need to be integrated into the legal community and will provide an opportunity to further grow the membership and strengthen SABA. Having been in this legal community for over 30 years. I think I can offer a unique perspective for lawyers new to the San Antonio market, whether those lawyers are solo practitioners, in house counsel or in a larger firm as to why being a part of SABA is important and beneficial.

Why vote for me?

I have truly enjoyed my last three years as a board member of the San Antonio Bar Association.  During this unprecedented year involving the COVID-19 global pandemic, SABA was willing and able to take a strong leadership role to help facilitate the continued operation of our judicial system in Bexar County.  I would like to continue to assist in this effort and to continue to work with my colleagues to find new and innovative ways to improve the great services SABA provides.  There are many wonderful and worthwhile opportunities waiting to be discovered and I would like to be a part of the next leadership team that bring these opportunities to reality.

Why vote for me?

I am honored to be nominated to run for the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Bar Association. I love San Antonio and has been my home since I moved here in 2005. Through my involvement in various organizations and serving on boards and commissions, I am committed to improve and grow this community for real estate professionals, both those already working in San Antonio and those considering expanding their operations here. Why vote for me?

I have been an attorney for more than 20 years.  I have spent that time developing my family law practice and serving the bar in a variety of ways. I believe I have the experience and skills necessary to assist the San Antonio Bar Association as a SABA Director.

I've served on the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee, held a Board position and volunteered with the Texas Family Law Foundation to help pass laws supporting family law attorneys in Texas and I've mentored young lawyers and law students.

I am Board Certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and I have worked hard to establish my reputation as a top family law attorney in San Antonio.

My experience demonstrates a dedication to the legal profession, and I would be honored to use my background to serve fellow members of the San Antonio Bar Association as a Director.

Why vote for me?

It is a privilege to have been nominated to serve a second term as a member of the Board of Directors.  If elected, I intend to continue to lead initiatives that benefit and support our members.  Specifically, I will remain committed to fostering a strong relationship between the Bench and Bar, particularly with our two Statutory Probate Courts, and I will seek opportunities where I can help provide critical information to SABA’s membership.  During my first term, I was afforded the opportunity to help plan and co-host two Town Hall CLEs via Zoom for SABA’s members, which addressed changes arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic, and I have helped to promote and shepherd the concerns and needs of SABA’s members in an effort to bring resolution to such matters.   I sincerely appreciate your vote and the ability to continue to serve SABA and its members.

Why vote for me?

As a Tax Attorney and CPA, my contribution to the board comes with a natural “fiscal” perspective.  While not exciting to most, I have no problem and actually enjoy digging into the numbers.  I feel this benefits the organization because I can help not only pinpoint strengths and weaknesses from a cost savings standpoint, but also identifying fiscally responsible growth opportunities.  My sense is that SABA is in a multi-year period of transition and I would like to be a part of shaping what the organization looks like and how it functions on the other end – with my (exciting) fiscal perspective!
