On Friday, January 24 SABA and CPA Society members gathered to listen to a cybersecurity panel, moderated by Jackson Walker Attorney Erica Benites Giese, discuss how to protect their businesses against cyber-attacks.

FBI Agent Lee McLoy, Bret Piatt of Jungle Disk and U.S. District Attorney Bill Harris lent their voices to the panel to apprise SABA members of best practices when it comes to keeping their law firms insulated against cyber-crime.

A key issue the panel touched on was the rapidly rising trend of wire fraud and the importance of notifying your bank and the FBI as soon as possible; while preemptory offensive systems are highly important, quick action taken in the event of a cyber breach is equally as critical.

The San Antonio Bar Association's next luncheon will be on March 26th with speaker Mikal Watts of Watts Guerra LLP.
